The Roman Empire at the time of Christ kept meticulous records. Why then, is there no record of the trial of Jesus?

Other Bible verses suggest that Yahweh came from the region of Mount Paran in Edom:

Poor Yahweh, all the other gods ganged up on him, his wife consorted with his main rival, and his chosen people kept chasing more profitable gods, as in Judges 10:6.

But the loopiest thing of all, and proof positive that the authors of the New Testament were lying, is the fact that Acts says the resurrected Jesus spent 40 days in Jerusalem with over 100 disciples, revealing the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, and yet no one recorded a single word he said.

I can’t get any girl I want, but I can just get some not my type of girls, so I feel I’m so ugly. What should I do?

Eloah was a consort of El and may be related linguistically to Allah.

A hellish heaven with a God who preaches the sermon of the Good Samaritan but hypocritically says, “Nah, not gonna do it myself!”

Because there was no Exodus from Egypt, and because Yahweh was not an initial member of the Elohim, but a latecomer, it seems possible there was a migration from inhospitable Edom to lush Canaan. This idea may be supported by the ancient Kuntillet Ajrud inscriptions which have been dated to the early 8th century BCE (around the time of the Bible’s origins). These inscriptions include references to “Yahweh of Samaria and his Asherah” and to “Yahweh of Teman and his Asherah.” Thus it seems Yahweh was originally associated with Samaria and Teman in Edom, and was still married to Asherah at the time — before she ran off with Baal!

What are some ways to cope with paranoid thoughts about being gangstalked or targeted individuals?

Tell us, Christians, will you be happy in heaven if your loved ones are suffering eternally in hell? If so, what sort of person are you? All the good mothers would leave heaven out of love for their children, so there would be only bad mothers in heaven. How would heaven be heaven, full of people with no hearts or souls?

Tiamat was the eldest goddess, a goddess of the sea and chaos. Although she is not mentioned by name in the Bible, she may have inspired the dark, chaotic waters of the Genesis creation account, and possibly the chaos-creating snake as well.

He was depicted with his foot on the head of a serpent.

Why do you think it is bad to allow people to self-identify as a different gender?

Some linguists think this passage refers to the goddess Asherah, who walks on the right hand of Yahweh, in the ancient hymn recorded in Deuteronomy 33:2-3:

Asherah (aka Athirat, Ashratu, Elat) was the consort of El and the Queen of Heaven. When Yahweh replaced El as the supreme god of the Israelites, Asherah became his consort and the Bible says she was worshipped alongside Yahweh in King Solomon’s temple. (2 Kings 21:7) There are also archeological artifacts that specifically mention “Yahweh and his Asherah.” Yes, God had a wife and the wisest of men worshipped her! But the chauvinistic redactors of the Bible accused Asherah of running off with Baal, there was a messy divorce, and afterwards Asherah was called an “abomination.” She was eventually reduced to an “asherah pole” and written off as a goddess, pardon the pun. 1 Kings 18:19 and 39 other verses.

Like Jesus, Dionysus answers the questions of Pentheus in an enigmatic way, so that it’s the interrogator who is really on trial. Are we seeing the direct influence of Euripides on the author of the gospel of John here? (Euripides)

How do you respond to "I don't like you anymore"?

But what did Josiah get for defending the honor of Yahweh with all his heart and soul? The Egyptians had far more powerful gods and Pharaoh Necho killed Josiah at Megiddo.

Jesus tells Pilate his power is derived from God; this echoes Dionysus telling Pentheus that imprisonment is useless because God will free him whenever he wishes. In each case the prisoner has the upper hand.

This is the kind of evil nonsense the Bible tries to pass off as “wisdom.”

The author of Matthew made a lot of sh*t, pardon my French, including the “virgin birth,” the “massacre of the innocents” and the “flight into Egypt.” Now God was actually Jesus’s father, but he was just a dime-a-dozen demigod, being half-human, like so many other demigods.

IF the Christian Bible is “inerrant” then Jesus was the greatest hypocrite of all. Why? Because he preached the sermon of the Good Samaritan, a man who put aside religious differences to show compassion to a suffering man of another faith who was helpless to help himself. And yet according to most Christians, Jesus will not be a Good Samaritan himself, but will condemn billions of people who cannot save themselves to an infinitely cruel, purposeless “hell” for guessing wrong about which religion to believe. No good or even halfway decent deity would do such a despicable thing. How can Christians claim Jesus is loving, wise and just if he would do such an incredibly evil thing? If Jesus is good, how is that not blasphemy? There is no reason for Christians to blaspheme Jesus’s name by accusing him of such unbelievable evil, but that’s what they do. Ironically, atheists and agnostics give Jesus the “benefit of the doubt” and don’t blaspheme his name.

Jezebel had 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah eating at her table. (1 Kings 18:19)

Yam was the first-born son of El and a god of the sea and chaos. Yam terrorized the seas with his seven-headed sea serpent Lotan. Baal slew Lotan and Yam and thus became the chief god. The account of Baal slaying Lotan no doubt influenced that Bible’s claim that Yahweh slew a great multi-headed sea serpent. Yam may have influenced the primordial dark, watery earth at the beginning of the Genesis creation account.

What is startling, however, is that no one greatly affected by the events related to Jesus in the New Testament reported anything about him doing anything of note in their region of the world.

Dionysus turned water into wine, thus Greek Christians deemed it necessary for Jesus to turn water into wine. But it goes deeper than that, because Dionysus had his blood drunk and his flesh eaten in a eucharistic ritual. In The Bacchae, written by Euripides in 405 BC, wine is called the “blood of Dionysus” and drinking his blood is said to lead to immortality. The Bacchae also discusses bread and wine as they pertain to the gods. Dionysus being poured out as wine in worship resembles Holy Communion.

A heaven without a single Good Samaritan?

The early Christians had no concept of a “trinity.” That dogma evolved over the centuries after the death of Jesus and is impossible to find in the Bible without a lot of dubious gymnastics. But then Christianity is all about dubious mental gymnastics.

Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah in garments stained crimson? Who is this so splendidly robed, marching in his great might? “It is I, announcing vindication, mighty to save.” (Isaiah 63:1)

How common are novels, animes, or mangas, that are both coming of age and thriller? What do you think of these kinds of stories? What are some examples?

Yahweh came from Sinai

The evangelist Paul was trying to convince the world that Jesus was the Christ, with every possible proof, but he never mentioned the loopy “ascension” nor the loopy “transfiguration” nor the loopy “virgin birth” nor the loopy “massacre of the innocents” nor the “miracles” of Jesus, not even those at the supposedly empty grave. Obviously these blatant lies were added to the texts after the fact, once Paul and the other apostles were no longer around to argue for the truth.

When the king of Moab saw that the battle was going against him, he took with him seven hundred swordsmen to break through opposite the king of Edom, but they could not. Then he took his firstborn son who was to succeed him and offered him as a burnt offering on the wall [to Chemosh]. And great wrath came upon Israel, so they withdrew from him and returned to their own land. (2 Kings 3:26-27)

We can see this El-related family of gods in the Genesis creation account when El says to the Elohim, “Let us (plural) make mankind in our (plural) own image.” The narrator then says, “Male and female, he created them.” Unless god is a hermaphrodite, women were created in the image of female goddesses like Asherah, Astarte, Anath and Eloah.

He “lived poor and loved the poor.”

Other biblical prophecies that can never be fulfilled include the one that King David would always have an heir to sit on the throne of Israel (Jeremiah 33:17), which was later drastically reduced to David always having an heir to sit continually on the throne of tiny Judea (2 Kings 8:19). However, both those prophecies failed. So did the one that the Levites would offer sacrifices continually in the temple (Jeremiah 33:18). The Jerusalem temple was destroyed twice, making temple offerings impossible. Another failed prophecy was Jesus’s that he would return during his disciples’s lifetime to fulfill ALL prophecies, which included his appearance in the clouds with great glory to the trumpets of angels, and the elect being gathered together from the four corners of the earth. (Matthew 24:29-34).

Clearly, such tall tales are badly-told fairytales, not real events. The Bible is as full of “gods” as the works of Homer. We now know the source of the names El and Elohim in the Bible. The Israelites started out as polytheists with the supreme Canaanite god El, his consort Asherah, the Queen of Heaven, and the sons and daughters of god, the Elohim, who included Yahweh and his rivals Baal, Chemosh, Dagon, Moloch, et al.

His birth was signaled by a star in the east, attended by angels and shepherds, and he was presented with expensive spices.

“Thou shalt have no other gods, except for El, Asherah and their 70 children, the Elohim.”

The Holy Ghost was especially delinquent in confirming its own divinity, which didn’t occur until the Council of Constantinople in 381 AD, nearly 400 years after the alleged birth of Jesus!

Think about it. Both the Romans and the Jews had highly literate people living in Israel at the time of Jesus’s alleged life and death. We have the writings of literate Romans and Jews, about far more mundane things, but no contemporary of Jesus wrote a single word about him, or even mentioned the name of the wonder-working Jesus of Nazareth.

This family of gods, the Elohim, a plural term used repeatedly throughout the Bible, is why in the Genesis creation account we hear El say, “Let us [plural] create mankind in our [plural] own image.”

While the Exodus did not occur, according to archeology and a complete lack of any mention of millions of Israelites being enslaved in otherwise braggadocious Egyptian historical documents, the Exodus myth may recall a time when a tribe of nomads lived in the arid wilderness region of Edom:

Tacitus, Plutarch, Lydus and Cornelius Labeo all mentioned Dionysus being associated with Yahweh.

Another way to interpret Psalm 82 might be that Yahweh is speaking, but if so he would be admitting that he was not the Most High God, since he had no children. Also, one must point out that Yahweh failed to do the things demanded in the psalm. Nor has any god ever come close to inheriting all nations. By this writer’s standards, all “gods” are failures, and who can argue with him?

But the hole-y Bible contains false prophecies that can never come true, so why believe? For instance, Ezekiel prophesied that Nebuchadnezzar would sack and destroy Tyre, leaving it desolate and uninhabited forever (Ezekiel 26:1-21). Zany Zeke went on for three chapters about all the horrors the “Sovereign Lord” would inflict on Tyre (Ezekiel 26-29). But Zeke later admitted on the pages of the Bible that his prophecy had failed utterly. (Ezekiel 29:18). Furthermore, the Bible confirms that Zeke’s prophecies were false, since both Jesus and Paul visited Tyre centuries later. After admitting his false prophecy, Zany Zeke immediately prophesied that Nebuchadnezzar would sack Egypt and leave it an uninhabited wasteland for 40 years. (Ezekiel 29:9-13). Once again Zeke went on and on about all the terrible punishments the “Sovereign Lord” would inflict on Egypt, this time for five chapters. (Ezekiel 29-33) That prophecy also failed miserably. Egypt has been continuously inhabited for at least 8,000 years and Nebuchadnezzar is long dead. Zany Zeke admitted that he was a false prophet and he proved it twice, so how can the Bible be “infallible” or “inerrant”?

That was some messy divorce!

OBSERVATIONS FROM THE COMMENTS

According to one Bible author, Yahweh commanded David to take a census (2 Samuel 24:1) then murdered 70,000 people over something he had caused to happen (2 Samuel 24:15). The author of the same account in 1 Chronicles said it was Satan who induced David to take the census (1 Chronicles 21:1). Why? Because this writer didn’t think his god should be so evil. And yet his god still murdered 70,000 people who had nothing to do with the census, so at best he only slightly reduced Yahweh’s guilt. What should we think about someone who murdered 70,000 innocent people?

In fact, there is not a single contemporary mention of the wonder-working Jesus of Nazareth, anywhere, outside the highly dubious texts that became the New Testament.

These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah over against Suph, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab. (Deuteronomy 1:1)

Like Jesus, Dionysus introduced a new form of religion. (Euripides)

Yahweh was understandably furious to have his main rival shacking up with his ex-wife and both being lavished with such worship!

Zeus sent his son Dionysus to teach mortals how to make wine [Jesus’s first miracle], to alleviate their suffering [Jesus “bore their stripes”] and to end war [Jesus was called the Prince of Peace]. Zeus foresaw that Dionysus would struggle on earth, but would be received into heaven "to shine beside Zeus." (Nonnus).

“Several inscriptions specifically refer to ‘Yahweh and his Asherah [or asherah].’”

We have a tremendous clue that El was the original supreme god of the Israelites because his name appears in many of the most ancient biblical names such as IsraEL, AbEL, MehujaEL, MehujaEL, MethusaEL, MahalaleEL, MethusELah, DaniEL, MichaEL, GabriEL, EzekiEL, ELijah, ELisha, etc.

Baal (aka Ba’al, Baal Hadad, Baal of Peor, Baal-Berith, Baal-Zebub, Beelzebub) was a Canaanite-Phoenician storm god, making him a direct competitor to Yahweh. That, and stealing Yahweh’s wife, as we will see! Baal was worshipped widely and is one of the oldest gods we know by name. His origins can be traced back to the 14th century BC. For instance, Baal battled the sea god Yam and underworld god Mot in the ancient Baal Cycle. Baal has been equated with Marduk. And as we will see in Yahweh’s entry in this index, Yahweh was copied in part after Baal/Marduk. Baal was mentioned in 123 verses.

His head was anointed with oil by a woman he healed.

There were times when the Israelites “returned” to the not-so-tender affections of Yahweh, as in 1 Samuel 7:3-4 and 1 Samuel 12:10.

Yahweh aka Jehovah, a tribal storm god, was married to Asherah but had to fight for her affections with his rival storm god, Baal, and eventually divorced her, paving his way to become a lone wolf god with a very bad disposition.

The authors of the Bible did not always insist that Yahweh was the only god. For instance:

Alcestis of Euripides, 600 B.C.

Satan was imported from the Persian Achaemenid Empire, where he made his first appearance around 550 BCE. The authors of the Bible may have acquired a belief in Satan and “fallen angels” during the Babylonian captivity. There was no reference to Satan in biblical chronologies covering 3,000 years from Adam and Eve to King David, so he was a very late import.

Over time, Yahweh and El merged into a single supreme god. El was a mountain god who lived in a tent. Moses climbed a mountain — was it Mount Sinai or Mount Horeb? — and set up a tent to receive the Ten Commandments. Moses created a tabernacle, also known as the tent of congregation and the tent of meeting. This tent was the dwelling place of Yahweh during the Exodus. The apostle Peter wanted to set up tents for Jesus, Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration. The apostle Paul was a tent maker. Do we see a pattern emerging, perhaps?

Jesus saves, from what? The world’s greatest Bible scholars now agree that there never was a mention — not a single mention — of “hell” in the Old Testament. This is true for the HCSB Bible commissioned by the famously literal Southern Baptist Convention. It is also true for the NABRE version translated by more than a hundred bible scholars for the Roman Catholic Church. And it’s true for the best-selling Bible, the NIV. The world’s greatest Bible scholars agree that there never was a “hell” according to the biblical god and his prophets. So what does Jesus “save” Christians from? He doesn’t save them from poverty, hunger, despair, sickness or death. The only thing Jesus saves Christians from is spending the trillions of dollars they have donated over the ages to lying churches, popes, priests and pastors.

Anath (aka Anat) was the sister of Ashtoreth and her name appears in the placenames Beth-Anath (“house of Anath”) and Anathoth, in Judges 1:33 and 23 other verses. She was the virgin goddess of war and strife and has been equated with Asherah and Ishtar. See also the entry for Shamgar.

Prometheus or Æschylus of Caucasus, 547 B.C.

he showed himself from Mount Paran.

Think about it. Suppose you stood face-to-face with the resurrected Messiah, who turned out to be God in the flesh and had died to forgive your sins and grant you eternal life in heaven. Wouldn’t you hang onto his every word and faithfully report what he said? But no one did. That defies common sense and tells us we can’t believe the New Testament.

PHASE I: POLYTHEISM

PHASE IV: THE SON OF MAN BECOMES THE SON OF GOD, SORTA

There is abundant extra-biblical evidence that Yahweh and Asherah were a divine couple at one time. According to Arthur George:

God spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as El Shaddai, but by my name Yahweh, I did not make myself known to them. (Exodus 6:2-3)

“Many” zombies rising from their graves to chat with “many” living relatives and friends would be rather unusual, to say the least, but no one mentioned it. “Ho hum, granny and pawpaw rose from their graves to tell the world that Jesus is the Messiah, but let’s not tell anyone. Ho Hum.”

Bali of Orissa, 725 B.C.

Yahweh was a latecomer to the party and not one of the original Elohim. So where did he originate? Probably from Mount Paran, in the region of Edom, due to these Bible verses:

Krishna was born of the Virgin Devaki on December 25 in a lowly cave after being sent from heaven to earth as the human incarnation of a triune god.

I suspect there was no crucifixion because there was no mention of a cross in relation to Christianity until the second century AD. Thus it seems the crucifixion was “backdated.” Why? In order for the Christian “savior” to compete with more ancient “saviors” and their cults.

Paul on the road to Damascus hears a divine voice saying, “It is hard to kick against the goads.” (Acts 26:14). This expression, found nowhere else in the Bible, echoes Dionysus urging Pentheus not to “kick against the goads.” (Euripides)

The Bible explicitly claims that El and Yahweh were the same god, while making a critical blunder:

GODS WHO APPEAR IN THE BIBLE: AN ALPHABETIC LISTING

This is a huge “IF” and please keep in mind that I’m not accusing Jesus of actually being evil, nor a hypocrite. However, IF the Bible is the “infallible” word of God as so many Christians claim, these assertions of mine are undeniably true.

Furthermore, the Christian belief that Satan was a “fallen angel” who was kicked out of heaven is clearly wrong according to the Bible, because in the opening chapter of Job, Satan was welcome in heaven, had a chat with god, and tricked him into murdering Job’s children, servants and livestock. If god was able to foresee the future, he could have gazed into his infallible crystal ball, then said, “Get behind me Satan, I know Job will remain faithful to me.” But the god of Job fell for Satan’s trick and murdered children, servants and livestock needlessly.

There was an asherah pole in King Solomon’s famous temple, so at one time Yahweh and Asherah were being worshipped together, as befits a divine couple!

Krishna had to flee a tyrant, King Kansa, who ordered the slaughter of infants (shades of Herod).

HOW CAN A HEARTLESS HEAVEN BE HEAVEN?

There are many other parallels between Dionysus and Jesus:

Mot was the god of death. In fact, his name literally means “death.” Mot was one of the three great sons of El. His name does not appear in the Bible but some Bible scholars believe he was the Bible’s “angel of death.”

WAS JESUS INFINITELY MORE EVIL THAN THE DEVIL?

“Three faces have I.” — Lou Christie

Here’s why…

by Michael R. Burch

The longest eclipse on record was slightly more than seven minutes, so in a three-hour eclipse, people everywhere would have thought the world was coming to an end, and yet no one anywhere in the world even mentioned it. “Ho hum, the sun is gone, it’s not coming back, and the world is coming to an end, but let’s not make a big deal about it. Ho hum.”

The authors of the Bible had Yahweh divorce his wife because she was way too popular and this made Yahweh angry (Jeremiah 7:18). And also because she hooked up with Baal! (Judges 2:13)

PHASE II: GET RIDDA THE CHICK!

For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods. (Psalm 95:3)

and all his holy ones on his left.

Iao of Nepal, 622 B.C.

what the hell is “above”?

The word “trinity” appears nowhere in the Bible. The concept was not made official until the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, after nearly three centuries of debate. And even then it was very fuzzy.

PHASE V: THE BIG FISH GROWS

King Pentheus was violently hostile to Dionysus, as King Herod was to Jesus. (Euripides)

Crite of Chaldea, 1200 B.C.

According to the oldest gospel, Mark, there was no “virgin birth” and Jesus became the Messiah when he was baptized by John the Baptist. This was sonship by adoption, not because Jesus was god from the beginning.

PHASE 666: JESUS BECOMES GOD!

He used parables to teach.

He died around age 30, and the sun darkened at his death.

Speaking of Baal, we can see attributes and exploits of Baal being attributed to Yahweh, on the principle of “anything your god can do, my god can do better!” We see this in Yahweh mimicking Baal’s conquest of a multi-headed sea serpent:

Here, the father-god and supreme god El is clearly dividing the earth’s nations up according to the number of his children. Since he had 70 children, there were 70 nations. This is confirmed by Genesis 10, known as the TABLE OF THE NATIONS, in which the 70 nations are specifically named. And this agrees with the number of children of El found in the Baal cycle. Thus, we have ultra-clear confirmation that at one time the gods of Israel and those of their neighbors were the same, with El being the supreme God and his children each “inheriting” a human tribe.

How is it possible that Jesus soared into the clouds like Superman before a Jerusalem crowd, as angels preached a sermon, yet no took notice? “Ho-hum, the resurrected Messiah just flew into the clouds. What a dreadful bore. Let’s not tell anyone.” Only the author of Acts mentioned the most amazing thing ever witnessed by human eyes, if it had actually happened. But of course it didn’t. The same author wrote Luke and Acts, but Luke never mentioned the most amazing event in human history. Isn’t that strange?

Dionysus was born of a virgin on December 25 and placed in a manger.

…Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab [a multi-headed sea serpent] and wounded the dragon? (Isiah 51:9)

In any case, Yahweh replaced El as the head of the gods and their Divine Council:

His “beloved disciple” was Ar-jouan (John).

WAS JESUS THE GREATEST HYPOCRITE WHO EVER LIVED?

THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING

Buddha Sakia (Muni) of India, 600 B.C.

But Yahweh lost too many battles — those dratted iron chariots! — so the “returnings” never lasted long. For instance, Yahweh was unable to defend King Saul from the Philistines and his ex-wife. Thanks to the superior power of Asherah, the Philistines were able to defeat Saul, kill and decapitate him, then parade his armor in her temple. (1 Samuel 31:10)

I don’t think the lack of records of the Roman Empire proves anything, one way or another.

He performed miracles, raising the dead and healing the deaf, blind and lepers.

Dionysus’s title of “Dendrites” indicates he was hung on a tree or crucified.

To this day the Holy Ghost has still not led Christians to any sort of agreement on the subject of the Trinity:

Christians frequently cite a highly disputed passage from the Antiquities of the famous Jewish historian Flavius Josephus as “evidence” that Jesus actually lived and was the Messiah. My response:

How major a blunder? Well, according to Walter C. Kaiser Jr. the name Jehovah (Yahweh in Hebrew) was used 162 times in Genesis, and 34 times on the lips of human speakers! How can we account for such a blunder? The most likely explanation is that after Exodus 6:2-3 was added to the Bible, some enterprising redactor went back and replaced 162 occurrences of El with Yahweh!

Thulis came from heaven to benefit mankind and was said to be full of grace and truth. He suffered a violent death on a cross, was buried, resurrected, then ascended to heaven, where he became the judge of the dead. This was nearly two millennia before Jesus.

The “evidence” of the few Roman historians who mentioned Jesus was hearsay: probably what they had heard from Roman Christians who believed lies made up long after the fact.

There is nothing “perfect” about the Bible or its diabolical “god.” Take the book of Job, where God is not only evil, but a hopeless dupe. If God is able to foresee the future as Christians claim, God was duped by the Devil into murdering Job’s children, hundreds of his servants, and his completely innocent animals. All God had to do was peer into his infallible crystal ball and say, “Get behind me Satan, I know Job will remain faithful to me!”

In the beginning there was El, the father god, his consort Asherah, and his 70 sons and daughters, the Elohim, who together formed a pantheon of gods widely worshipped in ancient Mesopotamia.

Furthermore, Josephus was born in Jerusalem just a few years after the alleged resurrection of Jesus, at a time when apostles like Peter and Paul were allegedly healing people with their shadows and performing other outlandish “miracles.” And yet Josephus never mentioned Peter, Paul or a single Christian miracle, even though they occurred in his backyard. Why? Because there were no “miracles.” All the “miracles” were made up after the destruction of Jerusalem when Christians scattered to the four winds. And that explains why the New Testament was written in Greek rather than Hebrew or Aramaic, as one would expect.

God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran… (Habakkuk 3:3)

Indeed, unfathomable.

Krishna’s disciples gave him the title “Jezeus” or “Jeseus” meaning “pure essence.”

Binitarians believe God is one and there is some sort of family that includes Jesus.

In conclusion, the Israelites were clearly polytheists in the early going, and the efforts of the Bible’s redactors to make it seem they were always monotheists was a spectacular failure due to shoddy editing. The much-lauded Holy Ghost would surely know better and would have done a much better job of covering its tracks!

Jesus warned his followers about false prophets in the Sermon on the Mount, calling false prophets “ravening wolves” in sheep's clothing. According to Jesus, false prophets are corrupt trees bearing evil fruit that will hewn down and cast into the fire. Jesus concluded his appraisal by saying, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:15-20)

Dionysus rode on an ass in a triumphal procession.

Yes, the wisest man who ever lived knew it was unwise to worship Yahweh only! And it wasn’t just Solomon who thought it best to hedge his bets. The worship of other gods continued long after the time of Solomon. Until the time of King Josiah. For Yahwists there was never a king like the good King Josiah! (2 Kings 23:25)

Modalists believe God is one and reveals himself through different “modes” or “manifestations” such as Jesus and the Holy Ghost.

How is that possible, if Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead, walked on water, fed the multitudes, was hailed by cheering crowds as the rightful King of the Jews, was tried by Pontius Pilate, then died a harrowing death as the sun was blotted out for three hours, the veil of the temple was rent, and the dead rose from their graves in a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE?

Prometheus was born on December 25, descended from heaven as a god incarnate to save mankind, and was crucified, suffered, died, and was resurrected.

Shamgar was the Samson-like son of the goddess Anat/Anath, and was thus either a god or a demigod. Shamgar “delivered Israel by striking down 600 Philistines with an oxgoad” giving us a peek into the Bible’s polytheistic roots. (Judges 3:31)

Dionysus rose from the dead on Easter. (Philodemus)

We find the council of the gods again, in Psalm 82. Here we see the Most High God, El, speaking to his children, the Elohim. The sixth verse, which I have bolded, confirms this:

Yea, he came among the myriads of Qudshu [righteous ones/holy ones],

PHASE III: MONOTHEISM, SORTA

Most Christians I know claim the Bible is the “word of God” and thus “infallible.” But as the old saw goes, “the proof is in the pudding.” The Holy Ghost would know the last words Jesus spoke on the cross and would not misrepresent that sacred utterance. But the human authors of the gospels all disagreed. Was there a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE? The Holy Ghost would know. Did any of the disciples race to the empty tomb? The human authors of the gospels didn’t know and made up four lie-filled incompatible stories. What were the last words on earth of the resurrected God and Savior? If you had heard them, you would report them faithfully, but the four gospels and Acts all disagree. Where did the resurrected God and Savior ascend into the clouds like Superman — the most miraculous thing human eyes have ever witnessed, if it actually happened? If you were there, you would report the location faithfully, but the five accounts all disagree.

According to Aaron Brody, a professor of Bible and archaeology at the Pacific School of Religion, the ancient Israelites were polytheists, "with only a small minority worshiping Yahweh alone before the historic events of 586 BC." In that year, the Judean elite were exiled to Babylon and the Jerusalem temple was destroyed. According to Brody this led to "a more universal vision of strict monotheism."

Adrammelech and Anammelech were gods of the Sepharvaim. 2 Kings 17:31 and two other verses.

Attis of Phrygia, 1170 B.C.

Unless god and Satan are the same being, two different human authors with very different beliefs about god were trying to explain why 70,000 people died. But it was a plague and today we know plagues are caused by microorganisms. Why would a just god murder women and children over something he caused to happen, or something a demon caused to happen? Of course it makes no sense. And yet the Bible accuses its god of being a mass murderer of women, children, toddlers, infants, babies and unborns multiple times — in the great flood of Noah, in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, in the plagues of Egypt, in the god-commanded genocides of Moses, Joshua and Caleb, etc.

Such failures were no doubt the reason for the wisest man who ever lived or ever will, according to the Bible, to hedge his bets with a slightly different Trinity of gods: Asherah, Milcom and Chemosh (2 Kings 23:13, (1 Kings 11:5).

The council of the gods (the Elohim).

IF the Bible is correct about what Jesus said, then Jesus was the greatest hypocrite who ever lived, after having sternly rebuked other religious hypocrites (the Pharisees), and furthermore Jesus is infinitely more evil than the Devil.

Do you believe in the ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE? Why didn’t Paul know about the virgin birth, the Magi, the massacre of the innocents, the earthly miracles of Jesus, the loopy Transfiguration, the miracles on the cross including the sun being blotted out and the ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, the miracles at the grave, or the loopy Ascension, with Jesus soaring into the clouds like Superman after he had spent 40 days preaching in Jerusalem but no one bothered to communicate a single word he said? None of the gospel accounts are credible, nor is Acts, and they prove nothing except that the authors would tell any lie, no matter how unbelievable, in order to deceive the gullible. Can a true religion be based on lies?

The ancient Israelites and Judeans adopted Yahweh as their tribal deity circa 1000 BC, but he was by no means an exclusive god. Nor was Yahweh all-powerful, since other tribes had competing deities. For example, in an amusing Bible verse, Yahweh was unable to defeat plains-dwellers who had iron chariots! Yahweh had to stick to the mountains, but was also unable to defeat the Jebusites who controlled Jerusalem. Other tribes had more powerful gods, apparently.

Dionysus performed miracles. (Euripides)

Should you not possess what your god Chemosh gives you to possess? And should we not be the ones to possess everything that the Lord our God has conquered for our benefit? (Judges 11:24)

You crushed the heads (plural) of Leviathan [a giant sea serpent]; you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness. (Psalm 74:14)

The Baal-like exploits of Yahweh such as defeating and dismembering a multi-headed sea serpent. (Psalm 74:14)

Josephus was writing a history of the Jews and their most important figures. The passage in question is like me writing a history of the American people, giving George Washington a rushed sentence or two, then writing at far greater length about Millard Fillmore, James Pierce, James Buchanan, et al.

et al

Dionysus was a member of a trinity with Zeus and Hades. (Orphic tradition)

Who lies about such sacred things? Surely a true Christian wouldn’t, but the authors of the New Testament obviously did. Can a true religion be based on lies?

He gave his twelve disciples the ability to work miracles.

Krishna was called:

We know the Josephus passage in question, the Testimonium Flavianum, is a Christian insertion and obvious fraud. Why? Because if Josephus, a religious Jew, had really believed Jesus was the Messiah, he would have written more about him. A lot more. No religious Jew says, “Jesus was the Messiah, ho-hum!” then rushes on to write at far greater length about far lesser figures.

Attis was born on December 25 to a virgin. His body was bread eaten by his worshippers. His priests were “eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven.” He was both the Divine Son and Father. He was the Savior slain for the salvation of mankind. Attis was crucified and his holy blood ran down to redeem the earth. He descended into the underworld for three days, was resurrected on March 25 (as tradition held for Jesus) and became the Most High God.

Unless some outrageous liar changed what the author of Luke and Acts wrote, after he was dead and gone.

Unitarians believe God is one and Jesus is not equal or co-equal with God.

If Jesus is God as a member of the Trinity, and if God authored the Bible as Christians claim, this means Jesus authored the Bible’s satanic commandments. On the other hand, if primitive human beings authored the Bible, as they so obviously did, lying baldly when they pretended to speak for a barbaric “god” they created in their own barbaric image, then every word of the Bible is suspect. WHICH. IT. IS.

Gnostics believe the biblical god is an evil demiurge who created a fallen world.

Jesus was a rabbi, Dionysus, a priest. (Euripides)

PHASE VI: THE FATHER AND THE SON GET MUDDLED

Should he have bothered?

Chemosh (aka Asthor-Chemosh, Kamos, Kamōš) was the primary god of the Moabites. The wise King Solomon built a sanctuary to Chemosh. (1 Kings 11:7) Chemosh defeated Yahweh via superior magic when the king of Moab sacrificed his firstborn son and heir to Chemosh on the city wall and the Israelites fled in defeat. (2 Kings 3:27) Chemosh appears in eight verses.

Ashtoreth (aka Ashtaroth, Astarte, Istar, Ishtar, Aphrodite) was a moon goddess worshipped by the wisest of men, King Solomon. (1 Kings 11:5). According to the International Bible Encyclopedia, the name Asherah was “originally an epithet of Ishtar (Ashtoreth) of Nineveh.” Also, Ashtoreth and Asherah were both consorts of Baal. For these reasons, I will assume Ashtoreth and Asherah were the same deity. Ashtoreth is mentioned in nine verses.

Shemesh was the god of the sun and his name means “sun.” His name appears in 23 verses in the placenames Beth-shemesh, En-shemesh and Ir-shemesh.

The Genesis creation account: “Let us (plural) make mankind in our (plural) own image.”

Quirinus of Rome, 506 B.C.

Lord, when you went out from Seir, when you marched from the region of Edom… (Judges 5:4)

Here’s another ancient “savior” with incredible parallels to Jesus Christ…

Dionysus escaping from prison via a miraculous earthquake is very similar to the “prison break” of Paul and Silas at Philippi (Acts 16:25-30). The jailer at Philippi rushes in with a drawn sword and collapses, just as Pentheus does. The followers of Dionysus are singing hymns, just as Paul and Silas were. (Euripides)

Because Elohim is plural, a better translation would be: “So the gods created human beings in their own images, in the images of the gods they created them; male and female they created them.”

THE DUBIOUS “PERFECTIONS” OF GOD AND THE BIBLE

Mithra was born on December 25, was conceived without sex, and his birth was attended by shepherds and wise men. He died, was resurrected, ascended into the heavens, and offered human beings salvation. He was depicted with a halo. His worshipers were baptized and had a symbolic sacred meal of bread and wine, with the wine representing blood. Mithra offered his worshipers immortality.

El’s wife was Asherah, so when Yahweh took over as the sole Israelite god, it made sense that his consort would be the Queen of Heaven.

Dionysus’s divinity was rejected by members of his own family; Jesus’s family thought he was mad. (Euripides)

—Michael R. Burch

The redactors of the Bible would change “children of God” to “sons of Israel” in their attempts to get rid of all gods other than Yahweh. But of course it makes no sense to set the borders of the nations according to the sons of Israel, because there were nowhere near that many nations in the Middle East. And what would a son of Israel have to do with far-off nations with which they had no contact?

Wittoba of the Bilingonese, 552 B.C.

Isn’t that odd?

The Lord and Savior who came to earth to die for man’s salvation.

THE EVOLUTION OF THE TRIUNE GOD

“EVIDENCE”? WHAT EVIDENCE?

The Levite priests who copied and redacted the Old Testament clumsily merged the Elohim into a single god, Yahweh, but there are many verses where the plural gods remain.

Marduk was the patron deity of Babylon. He was also know as Bel, a variation of Baal (“Lord”). After conquering Tiamat, he became Lord of the Gods of Heaven and Earth. The status and cults of Baal and Marduk were much the same. As Babylon rose in prominence, so too did its god Marduk. With tiny Israel losing war after war, then being taken into captivity by Babylon, the ancient world would have seen Marduk/Baal as far more powerful than Yahweh. And then as we will see, Baal stole Yahweh’s wife, heaping shame on shame! No wonder Yahweh was so furious, so often!

His earthly father was a carpenter who was off paying taxes when Krishna was born (shades of Joseph and the census tax).

Dionysus faced hostility from the rulers but was welcomed by the lowly. (Euripides)

At times the authors of the Bible admitted the power of other gods:

The supreme father and creator god El.

Dionysus was the son of the Supreme God, Zeus, who fathered Dionysus on a mortal virgin, Semele. (Nonnus).

Tammuz of Syria, 1160 B.C.

Krishna, like Jesus, was tempted by demons.

Ancient “saviors” dying on crosses or trees, then being “resurrected” were features of cultish religions long before Christianity. There were at least 16 crucified “saviors” who vastly predated the lollygagging latecomer Jesus:

The inscription on the pithos above reads "Yahweh of Samaria and his Asherah." The central figures may be representations of Yahweh and Asherah. It bears noting that the larger figure has prominent male genitals and smaller figure has no visible genitalia. In other inscriptions Yahweh of Teman is also linked to Asherah.

Asherah was so popular in Israel that there was an asherah pole “under every spreading tree”! (1 Kings 14:23)

Christians love to quote Bible verses about the “glory” and “righteousness” of their alleged “god,” but the proof is in the pudding and the Bible’s pudding is rancid. For example:

The Christ (“Anointed One”)

Jesus said a good tree cannot bear evil fruit (Matthew 7:18) and thus a good God cannot produce evil commandments. But the biblical “god” certainly did, over and over again. Furthermore, according to Christian theology Jesus is the “Word of God” and author of the Bible.

IF the Bible is true, Jesus was able to save the thief on the cross with a nod of his head, and yet Jesus will refuse to nod his head at the saints of other religions and non-religions. An infinitely cruel Jesus will send Gandhi, Einstein, the Dalai Lama and billions of other human beings to an eternal hell. The Devil has no say in who goes where, so if someone you love goes to hell, it was Jesus who sent them there, for no purpose except mindless eternal punishment. Why doesn’t Jesus put his ego aside and just nod his head at everyone? Ah, but then churches couldn’t make trillions of dollars peddling “salvation,” could they?

THE GREATEST LIE EVER TOLD: “JESUS SAVES!”

Justin Martyr saw so many strong parallels between Jesus and Dionysus that he argued demons had imitated Jesus before he was born! The Occam’s Razor here is that the Greek author of the gospel of John patterned his text after the Bacchae. For instance, Jesus’s first miracle was turning water into wine, an invention that appears nowhere else in the New Testament.

Astarte has been associated with Venus.

Krishna castigated the clergy, charging them with hypocrisy, then fell victim to their vengeance, like Jesus.

The Bible says other gods should worship Yahweh, as they once worshipped El:

“Mass-murder babies and unborns in their pregnant mothers’ wombs, but keep the virgin girls alive as sex slaves.” (Numbers 31:17-18)

In the comments it was called “incredible” that we have the four “accounts” of the life of Jesus in the gospels. My response:

and shone forth from his own Seir,

The names of these gods appear repeatedly on the pages of the Bible…

WHY WAS JESUS CRUCIFIED?

At the end of Job we are supposed to believe God gave Job replacement children and everything was hunky-dory.

What we have is clearly a Christian gloss, probably all the charlatans could squeeze in when they doctored the text in question.

1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods. 2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. 3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. 4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. 5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. 6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. 7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. 8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

Believing in Satan is silly, because the Bible tells us why he was invented by human beings.

Krishna of India, 1200 B.C.

Why do I get the feeling that the Holy Ghost has given up and is on a 2,000-year sabbatical?

Krishna was transfigured before his disciples.

He was crucified between two thieves with with nail-holes in his feet.

He rose from the dead and ascended to heaven “in the sight of all men” like Jesus.

The Lord came from Sinai and dawned from Seir upon us; he shone forth from Mount Paran. (Deuteronomy 33:2)

DOES SATAN EXIST?

There is no Satan. Believing in Satan is like believing in the monster under the bed. Satan was a literary creation of the primitive human authors of the Bible. Satan was not mentioned in Bible chronologies that covered around 3,000 years from Adam and Eve to King David. If there was a incredibly dangerous omniscient demon called Satan, the biblical god and his prophets would have warned the Israelites about him, but for 3,000 years Satan never appeared once in the Bible’s very detailed chronologies. When Satan finally appeared during the census of David, it was clearly to be a scapegoat for the sins of Yahweh.

FALSE PROPHECIES THAT CAN NEVER BE FULFILLED

The KJV says Yahweh “hast broken Rahab in pieces” and that sounds very much like what Baal did to the sea serpent in the Baal Cycle. But it hardly seems fair for an all-powerful god to be fighting with one of his creatures, so this image of Yahweh doesn’t suit Christianity, does it?

by Michael R. Burch

This is how it happened, in stages…

Is the Bible a book of wisdom, really? How many of us have fallen short of the “glory” of such satanic commandments?

At some point early Christians began to argue about the nature of Jesus, and exactly how he was divine. The Holy Ghost was not doing a good job of leading Christians to the “truth” and the disputes became bitter and rancorous. There were Christians who believed Jesus was human but not divine, Christians who believed Jesus was human and adopted by God, Christians who believed Jesus was “of the same substance” as God but not the same person, Christians who believed God could not take human form, etc.

The earliest sources for the Canaanite pantheon of gods are the Ugarit texts, which have been dated to circa 1500-1200 BCE. The Ugarit texts predate the Bible and obviously influenced it, particularly in:

And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah Jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen. (Genesis 22:14)

THE IMMENSELY FALLIBLE BIBLE

El was the father-god and supreme god.

The heavenly hosts sang at his birth.

The book of Job also refutes the idea that Satan was cast down from heaven, since he waltzed into God’s throne room, was welcome, and made an evil wager with the Big Guy.

Of course that makes no sense and the Messiah would have been a far greater figure to the Jews than George Washington was to Americans.

There were also women doing ritual weaving for Asherah inside Solomon’s temple. (2 Kings 23:7)

Nay, unfathomable.

Yahweh’s main rivals among the gods were Baal/Marduk, Chemosh, Dagon and Moloch.

It sounds like the nomads decided to migrate from Paran to more fertile land, the “land of milk and honey.” (Numbers 13:26)

When the Most High [El Elyon] gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the children of men, he set the bounds [borders] of the peoples according to the number of the children of God [the Elohim]. The Lord’s [Yahweh’s] own portion was his people, Jacob [Israel] his allotted share. (Deuteronomy 32:8-9)

His path was “strewn with branches” like Jesus’s with palms.

I join Mark Twain in grokking the economic basis of Christian “salvation.” My response to all infallible commandments of the infallible Bible, including those to mass-murder babies and unborns in their mothers' wombs, is: "Praise the LORD and pass the collection plate!" — Michael R. Burch

Hesus or Eros, 834 B.C.

I will call the mother-goddess Asherah to avoid confusion. This suggests that Yahweh and Baal were fighting over which son of god would “consort” with their mother, the Queen of Heaven!

Trinitarians believe God has three distinct persons: the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Worship him, all ye gods. … For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods. (Psalm 97:7-9)

This family of gods has been identified previously and the main gods as far as the Bible goes were:

Indra of Tibet, 725 B.C.

The verse statistics below were determined by doing searches for the names in question using BibleGateway-dot-com and can be easily verified.

We find the council of the gods not only in the Genesis creation account, but also in the account of how Yahweh came to be the tribal god of the Israelites. The father-son relationship between El and Yahweh can clearly be seen in this uncorrupted passage in the Dead Sea Scrolls:

However, the chauvinistic authors of the Bible decided Yahweh’s wife had to go. They railed at her at every possible opportunity.

at his right hand his own Asherah,

How did the Bible go from 70 gods, to one “god” who then evolved into an alleged “trinity”?

Raphael Patai was the first historian to observe that the ancient Israelites worshiped both Yahweh and Asherah. The theory has gained prominence due to the research of Francesca Stavrakopoulou, who says her research led her to the conclusion that “God had a wife.” The evidence that convinced her includes several Canaanite inscriptions that link the couple as a divine pair, including a petition for a blessing from “Yahweh and his Asherah.”

You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them. You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your strong arm you scattered your enemies. (Psalm 89:9-10)

Dagon was the father of Baal-Hadad and a major god of the Canaanites and Philistines. His name appears in nine verses including the placename Beth-dagon.

The blunder is that Abraham did know the name Jehovah many centuries before the time of Moses:

Is there any “evidence” whatsoever that Jesus actually lived and was the Messiah?

The Israelites traveled on from the Wilderness of Sinai, moving from one place to the next until the cloud stopped in the Wilderness of Paran. (Numbers 10:12)

Buddha was born on December 25 to the Virgin Maya. His birth was announced by a star and attended by wise men who presented costly gifts. At his birth angels sang hymns. He taught in the temple at age 12. He was tempted by the Evil One, while fasting, but overcame the temptation. He healed the sick and fed the multitudes from a small basket of cakes. He came to fulfill the law and preached about a kingdom of righteousness. He required his followers to renounce the world and live in poverty. He was said to have “crushed a serpent's head” and to have been transfigured on a mountain. It was Buddha who first said, “If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other cheek also.” He walked on water. One of his disciples wanted to hear him preach so he started to cross a stream, but doubted and began to sink but regained his faith and made it across.
